Privacy Policy for LashMuse
Effective date: October 26, 2026 (previous version: March 20, 2026)
LashMuse (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app handles information when you use LashMuse on iPhone or iPad.
1. Overview
LashMuse lets you try virtual lash and color-lens looks on a photo you choose or live through your camera. All image processing happens on your device.
LashMuse is free to use and is supported by ads provided by Google AdMob. Section 4 explains what the ad service collects. Your photos, camera frames and face data are never given to the ad service.
2. Your Photos, Camera and Face Data
We do not collect, store, or transmit your photos, camera frames, edited images, or face data to our servers or to any third party. We do not operate servers that receive this content.
- On-device analysis: to place the virtual lashes and lenses, the app detects eye and face landmarks in the selected photo or the camera feed. This analysis runs entirely on your device.
- No biometric identification: the landmarks are used only to position the effects. They are not used to identify or recognize any person.
- Temporary use: landmark data is kept in memory only while you edit and is not saved to permanent storage.
- Not used for ads: no photo, camera frame, edited image, or face data is passed to the advertising SDK.
3. Camera and Photo Access
LashMuse may request permission to:
- access your camera for the live lash preview;
- access the photos you choose from your photo library; and
- add images and videos to your photo library when you tap Save.
This access is used only to provide the app’s features on your device. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app. If camera access is turned off, the app shows an Open Settings button that takes you to LashMuse’s settings.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
LashMuse shows ads from Google AdMob:
- full-screen ads after you finish saving or sharing, or when you leave the result screen; and
- an optional rewarded video ad that you can choose to watch to create a Before → After video.
To deliver, measure, and protect ads from fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google’s User Messaging Platform may collect the following information from your device:
- device and app identifiers (for example, an identifier for vendors or an app-scoped identifier), device model, OS version, and app version;
- approximate (coarse) location derived from your IP address;
- ad interactions, such as ad views and taps;
- diagnostic, performance, and crash data related to the ad SDK.
No tracking: LashMuse does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so the ad SDK cannot access your device’s Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Ad install measurement uses Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: where required, Google’s consent form asks whether ads may be personalized before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices on the app’s home screen.
Ad content is limited to general audiences and parental-guidance ratings. Google processes this information under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
We receive only aggregated reports from AdMob (such as the number of ad impressions and earnings). These reports do not identify you.
5. Information Stored Only on Your Device
- Saved looks (“My looks”): the style settings and a small preview thumbnail of looks you save are stored in the app on your device. You can delete them in the app.
- Preferences: your last style and app settings are stored on your device so you can continue where you left off.
- Usage counters: the app counts certain actions on your device (for example, how many times you saved or shared) to decide when an ad or a review request may appear. These counts are not sent to us.
This information is removed when you delete the app.
6. Sharing and Saving
If you choose to share an image or video, LashMuse passes it to Apple’s system share sheet and the app or service you select. Any third-party app or service you choose is governed by its own privacy policy.
If you choose to save an image or video, it is saved to the photo library on your device.
7. Purchases
The current version of LashMuse does not offer in-app purchases. Customers who bought the former “Pro” upgrade keep an ad-free experience on the device where it was purchased; this status is stored only on that device. Payments for that earlier purchase were processed by Apple, and we never received your payment card information.
8. Data Retention
Because we do not collect your photos, camera content, or face data, we do not retain that content remotely. Information collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google’s policies.
Images and videos you save remain in your photo library until you delete them.
9. Children’s Privacy
LashMuse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Your Choices
- Manage camera and photo permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, change your ad consent with Privacy choices on the home screen.
- Delete saved looks in the app, and saved images or videos in your photo library.
- Deleting the app removes all information it stored on your device.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page.
